Charvelle Mclain Named OLCHS January Female Athlete Of The Month
Oak Lawn Community High School wrestler Charvelle Martin is headed to the IHSA sectional meet this weekend for a shot at the IHSA finales.
OAK LAWN, IL — Oak Lawn Community High School senior Charvelle Mclain stormed through the month of January and is looking for even more success in the month of February. After finishing first at the South Suburban Conference Red Tournament and finishing second at the Illinois High School Association Regional meet, she was named as the Female Spartan Athlete of the Month for January.
The second-place finish at the regional sets up a trip to the IHSA Sectional meet this weekend, where she will have a chance to advance to the IHSA State Finals. Mclain has an incredible 30 victories this year.
“Charvelle has been a leader and positive influence, providing invaluable insight and experience to her teammates,” OLCHS head wrestling coach Matt Arthur said. “Her dedication, work ethic, and mentorship have left a lasting impact on the program, setting the standard for future generations.”
