Chicago Man Accused Of Carjacking Teen In Jewel-Osco Parking Lot
The man approached the teen sitting in her parked car while wearing a ski mask and ordered her out of the car at gunpoint, OLPD said.

OAK LAWN, IL — A Chicago man is accused of carjacking a teen sitting in her parked vehicle last Saturday evening in a supermarket parking lot, Oak Lawn police said. Damon Trout, 20, is charged with unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated vehicular hijacking, a Class X Felony
Police said the teen was sitting inside her parked vehicle during the evening hours at Jewel Osco, 8801 S. Ridgeland Ave. A man wearing a ski mask and armed with a handgun approached her parked vehicle. Police said the man ordered her out of the vehicle several times while waving the gun while threatening to shoot her.
The teen got out of her car and ran away as the man, later identified as Trout, sped off in her car, police said.

Around 1:15 a.m., Burbank police found the unoccupied, hijacked vehicle in the 8200 block of South Central Avenue. Both Oak Lawn and Burbank police searched the area and found a man matching the description of the alleged carjacker armed with a loaded gun.
The 20-year-old Trout was taken into custody, Burbank police charged Trout with unlawful use of a weapon.

Oak Lawn detectives, using camera footage obtained from plate readers and security video from Jewel-Osco, were able to piece events together. Police said Trout also confessed to carjacking the vehicle.
Trout appeared for a pretrial hearing on Oct. 2 in the Bridgeview Courthouse. He was released with maximum conditions.
