Chicago Man Threatens To Shoot Kids With Glock for Littering: Prosecutor
Prosecutor said man threatened to shoot "everyone in this car" after juvenile threw gum wrapper out window in CVS lot.

WORTH, IL -- A Chicago man threatened to shoot a bunch of kids in a car for littering after one of them threw a gum wrapper out the window, prosecutors said. Steven Lucas, 36, appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice on charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and possession of ammunition without a valid FOID card.
Worth police were called to the CVS store at 6748 W. 111th St. on Aug. 6. Several witnesses told police that a vehicle was in the parking lot with at least two, perhaps three juveniles inside. One of the kids was chewing gum and tossed a gum wrapper out the window. Lucas allegedly approached the the vehicle and said, “You better pick up that [EXPLETIVE] litter or I’ll shoot everyone in this car.”
The prosecutor said Lucas pulled a black handgun out of his waistband and pointed it at the car. Lucas reportedly left in his vehicle, but was pulled over a short time later. Police found a 9mm, black Glock 19 handgun. There was no round in the chamber but the magazine contained 13 hollow tip bullets, according to the charges.

Reports indicated that Lucas did not have a valid FOID or conceal-carry license. He also has past convictions in 2003 for possession of a controlled substance, and a 2000 conviction for child endangerment related to a DUI.
The assistant public defender told the judge that Lucas works as a interior remodeler. His attorney said Lucas could afford $500 for bond.

“That’s not going to be enough,” Judge Felice said. "The gun concerns me."
The prosecutor asked for special conditions of bond. Lucas is prohibited from having guns and must surrender all weapons to the Worth Police Department, including a FOID card and conceal-carry license, if applicable. He also can’t post pictures of himself with guns or replicas. Lucas is to stay away from CVS and the kids while his case is pending.
“I consider him to be an absolute danger to the community, pointing a loaded gun at kids,” Judge Felice said before setting bail at $50,000.
Lucas is due back in court Aug. 21 in Bridgeview. The special conditions of bond were also granted.
