Chicago Men Killed in Single Car Crash in Burbank
Burbank police say alcohol may have played a role in fatal accident that happened early Saturday morning near 79th Street and Meade.

BURBANK, IL -- Burbank police said alcohol appears to be a factor in a single-car crash where two Chicago men were killed early Saturday morning.
Around 3:11 a.m., police and firefighters responded to serious car accident near 79th Street and Meade Avenue. When police arrived, they came upon a single car accident involving a silver 2002 Mitsubishi 4-door with two men inside, ages 25 and 26. Both were not showing signs of life. The men were brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where they were pronounced deceased, police said in a news release.
According to witnesses, the car was traveling eastbound on 79th Street in the curb lane when the driver appeared an unknown maneuver causing the car to veer off the road. Police said the car struck a lamp post and crashed into a chain link fence in front of a property in the 6500 block of West 79th Street.

The men’s identities are being withheld pending notification of their families. Both men are from Chicago. Police said alcohol appears to have played a role in the fatal accident, which is still under investigation.
The South Suburban Major Accident Reconstruction Team and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office are assisting in the investigation.
