Chicago Public School Teacher Spews Profanities, Yanks Cop's Hair During Arrest: Prosecutor

Teacher was making sexual comments to Oak Lawn police officers, which were "inappropriate to say the least," prosecutor said.

OAK LAWN, IL -- An Oak Lawn man and woman were both arrested after they spit at and yanked the hair of police officers responding to a domestic disturbance at an apartment building, prosecutors said Tuesday in court.

Kimberly Wagner, 38, appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice on charges of aggravated battery to a police officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Her boyfriend, Kevin Bardachowski, 36, was charged with aggravated battery to a police officer and resisting arrest.

Bardachowski did not appear in court because he was hospitalized at Advocate Christ Medical Center with heart issues, the prosecutor said.

Oak Lawn police responded to an apartment building in the 9800 block of Pulaski Road around 4:48 p.m. Dec. 19. When they arrived, they prosecutor said that officers found Wagner laying on the floor in the common area screaming profanities.

The prosecutor said when officers escorted Wagner to her apartment she laid on the floor again and grabbed a female police officer’s hair, refusing to let go. While laying on the floor, Wagner made sexual comments that were “inappropriate to say the least,” the prosecutor said.

Police ordered Bardachowski to stay where he was at but the prosecutor said he walked away and spit on an officer’s uniform.

Wagner and Bardachowski were said to be highly intoxicated at the time of their arrests.

The assistant public defender told the judge that Wagner was a Chicago Public Schools special education teacher and real estate broker.

Bardachowski is currently on parole from the Illinois Department of Corrections for aggravated battery to a police officer. He has a past conviction from 2005 for aggravated battery to a police officer/firefighter, for which he received a three-year prison term. According to prison records, he has the name “Kim” tattooed on his abdomen.

Bail for Wagner was set at $7,500. Bardachowski’s bail was set at $75,000. Both are due back in court Jan. 11 in Bridgeview.
