Chicago Steam Player Back In Court

A man who portends to a professional basketball player is accused of using another person's credit card to buy sports apparel.

CHICAGO RIDGE, IL -- An Oak Lawn man who was arrested last December when he was found allegedly slumping in traffic after passing out in his car, is now accused of using someone else’s credit card to buy gym shoes. Reginald Jackson, 23, appeared before Cook County Judge Michael Kane on a charge of financial identity theft. Jackson claims to be professional basketball player for Chicago Steam.

According to the charges, Jackson used a woman’s credit card to purchase $357 worth of merchandise from the Finish Line inside the Chicago Ridge Mall. Police arrested Jackson on May 28 as he was leaving the store.

The assistant public defender told the judge that Jackson plays for the Chicago Steam and is enrolled at Moraine Valley Community College.

The judge set bail at $10,000. Jackson's next court date is June 18.
