Christmas Gets A Horror Twist At Midnight Terror Haunted House

OAK LAWN, IL — You’ve heard of the Island of Misfit Toys? Well this weekend you can experience misfit, disgruntled elves wreaking havoc in Santa’s Workshop in an interactive Christmas haunted house for one weekend only, Dec. 17 through Dec. 18.

Justin Cerniuk, the creator of Midnight Terror Haunted House, declared one of America’s scariest haunted houses by USA Today, presents “Christmas Fear.” Guests can explore the immersive and frightful festivities that have been unleashed upon Santa’s Workshop of Fear by his little helpers. You’ll be greeted by a picture with Santa himself before dashing through the Silent Night Maze, an interactive snowball fight, and all the twists and turns of the factory.

The North Pole rejects are ready to challenge guests’ agility and bravery, including Nutcrackers, toy soldiers, sugar plum fairies and Drunk Mall Santa. Have fun putting coal in stockings, participate in a foam snowball fight, and wrapping your friends in wrapping paper. The best way to spread Christmas Fear is screaming loud for all to hear.

The venue is heated and indoors, and re-themed from Halloween. Ample on-site parking is available. Midnight Terror Haunted House is located at 5520 W. 111th St., Oak Lawn. The haunted house is open 7 to 10 p.m. The walk-through lasts about 30 minutes. Groups will let in every three minutes. Face masks are required.
