BURBANK/OAK LAWN, IL -- Police are investigating a pair of convenience store robberies to see if the two are possibly connected. The robberies occurred late Monday, early Tuesday morning in Oak Lawn and Burbank.
Around 1 a.m. Tuesday, a male black subject entered the 7-Eleven store at 87th Street and Central Avenue in Burbank. The purported robber displayed a gun and took an unspecified amount of cash and a pack of Newports. The employee told police that the man fled the area, possibly in a Chevy Equinox with out-of-state plates.
Burbank police are reviewing the store’s security video. The alleged robber was reportedly not wearing gloves. About an hour before the Burbank robbery, the Circle K convenience store at 106th Street and Cicero Avenue in Oak Lawn was robbed by a man of similar description.
