Cops Charge Two Men Under Watch in Drug Investigation: Prosecutor
One of the defendant's attorneys said he was confused because his client's name was not on a search warrant.

CHICAGO RIDGE, IL -- Police found baggies full of cannabis and cocaine during a drug sting at a Chicago Ridge apartment, resulting in the arrests of two men, prosecutors said in court.
According to the charges, a confidential source set up a pot deal with Tre Anderson, 21, at an apartment building in the 6000 block of West Marshall in Chicago Ridge.
When the confidential source arrived at the apartment building, Anderson was sitting outside on the apartment’s balcony, the prosecutor said. The source parked in front of the building where Anderson was allegedly entering the vehicle. Police said they watched a hand-to-hand transaction transpire.

Also found on the premises were a box of plastic baggies containing 19.5 grams of cocaine and marijuana on the bed in the bedroom, the prosecutor said. Police also found Shelby’s wallet with ID and credit cards in his name on the nightstand, a wedding picture of him and his wife, car titles and a FOID card all showing Shelby living at the address.
Shelby’s attorney said his client was a graduate of Reavis High School in Burbank, well educated and employed.
“The other defendant’s name was on the warrant,” the attorney said, “not my client’s. We’re confused.”
“All evidence indicates the apartment was his,” Judge Peter Felice said.
Court records listed Anderson’s address in the 5600 block of West 107th Place in Chicago Ridge.
Bail for Shelby was set at $200,000. His next court hearing is set for Sept. 28 in Bridgeview.
In a separate bond hearing, the assistant public defender told the judge that Anderson was a college student taking auto mechanics. His bail was set at $10,000 and random drug testing if he bonds out. Anderson is also due back in court Sept. 28 in Bridgeview.
