D123 Performing Arts Students Hit all the Right Notes

Four District 123 students were selected out of 1,000 to participate and perform in the ILMEA Music Festival on November 7, 2015.

On Saturday, November 7, 2015, the Illinois Music Educators Association Elementary and Junior High Division held its annual District I Music Festival at Lockport Township High School, East Campus in Lockport, IL. The festival involved over 500 students selected from more than 60 schools throughout the southwestern metropolitan Chicago area. There were performances by the festival band, symphony, and chorus.

Appearing in concert with the 150 member festival band, were four OLHMS Band members. Congratulations to our ILMEA participants Haley Thompson, Kevin Pankam, Grace Trout, and Jose DelCastillo.

This is a very prestigious honor (approximately 1,000 students tried out for the festival band) and we are very proud of these musicians. We salute their accomplishment!
