D123 Recognized for PBIS

The focus of PBIS is to develop structures for teaching expected behaviors and social skills, create student behavioral and academic support systems, and apply data-based decision-making to discipline, academics, and social/emotional learning.

The Illinois PBIS Network recognized D123 schools for their outstanding efforts implementing PBIS during the 2012-13 school year.

Kolmar Avenue School recently celebrated PBIS with a Kolmar Gold Medal Behavior themed rally. Along with the Olympic tradition, they passed a torch from class to class announcing their classroom mottos.   Each class designed a flag with their gold medal behavior motto on it and then displayed them in the gym during the assembly.

D123 continues to provide needed supports for ALL students to achieve social, emotional, and academic success.
