D229 Superintendent Reshuffles Admin Team, Names New OLCHS Principal
D229 Supt. Shahe Bagdasarian announces new changes to administrative team, including naming Dr. Lauren May as the new Oak Lawn principal.

OAK LAWN, IL — Supt. Dr. Shahe Bagdasarian announced an administrative restructuring within the Oak Lawn Dist. 229 school district that will take effect July 1. The reorganization is aimed at optimizing operational efficiency, enhancing multiple tiers of communication, and addressing specific needs within the school district that will ultimately benefit both students and staff, the superintendent said.
Dr. Jeana Lietz, is shifting from her current position as principal of Oak Lawn Community High School, to her new role as the assistant superintendent for personnel development. Lietz brings a wealth of experience and collaborative spirit to oversee and enhance the district’s human resources department.
“Jeana’s leadership will be instrumental in ensuring that we continue to attract, develop, and retain top talent while fostering a positive and inclusive work environment for all staff members,” Bagdasarian said in a news release.

The current assistant principal of instruction, Dr. Lauren May, has been kicked up to principal of OLCHS. She has served the school in a variety of roles over the past 24 years.
“I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to lead our school,” May said. “OLCHS is my second home, and I look forward to building on my existing relationships as well as forming new bonds with our school-community.”
May earned her doctorate, masters and undergraduate degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. She also holds a master's degree from the University of Chicago and is a Certified School Business Official.

Michael Sunquist is shifting from his current position as director of student services to the assistant principal of student services. In his new role, he will take on additional building responsibilities.
Bagdasarian noted that Sunquist has been an integral part of the high school’s leadership team, demonstrating exemplary dedication, innovative thinking and a deep commitment to the success and well-being of students and staff.
“With his proven track record of leadership and his unwavering dedication to our district’s values, he is exceptionally qualified to take over as the assistant principal for student services,” the district superintendent said.
Marcus Wargin will remain in his current position as Oak Lawn’s assistant principal for operations and student activities.
