Driver Tells Cop He Has A Lot of Weed In His Car: Prosecutor

Worth police find 112.5 grams of cannabis in a Hickory Hills man's car after he is pulled over for improper lane usage, prosecutor says.

WORTH, IL -- A Hickory Hills man pulled over in a traffic stop told Worth police that he had a lot of weed in his car, prosecutors said. Damion Malgioglio, 22, of Hickory Hills, appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice on a charges of possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia. Malgioglio is currently on probation for another pot rap, according to court records.

The prosecutor said that on Sept 21 near 114th Street and Harlem Avenue in Worth, police stopped Malgioglio for improper lane usage. The officer reported that as he approached Malgioglio’s car it smelled like pot. Malgioglio alleged told the officer, “I like got a lot of weed on me now.” Police recovered a glass pipe and bag of cannabis from the floorboard, which weighed 112.5 grams, according to the prosecutor.

“Did he really say weed,” Felice asked.

“Yes,” the prosecutor said.

Bail for the new charge was set at $10,000. The judge also ordered random drug testing should he bond out. Malgioglio is currently being held on a no-bail warrant in Cook County Jail for violating probation on a felony cannabis conviction from 2015. Malgioglio’s next court date is Oct. 5 in Bridgeview.

“I wish I were 22 again although not in your position,” Felice told Malgioglio. “Marijuana is not good for you because it’s causing you to do things.”
