Drivers Complain of Man Throwing Rocks at Cars, Grabbing his Crotch: COPS

OAK LAWN, IL -- A man was arrested for throwing rocks at passing traffic and grabbing his crotch, reports said. At least two car owners told Oak Lawn police that their vehicles were damaged by rocks. Laron Holt, 34, was charged with criminal damage to property.

Oak Lawn police were dispatched around 1:13 p.m. June 27 to the 9000 block of South Cicero Avenue, after receiving a report of a man, later identified as Holt, throwing rocks at cars. When a rock hit the motorist’s car, he made a U-turn and and pulled into the McDonald’s parking lot where he called 911. The motorist told police he was driving south on Cicero Avenue when he saw Holt allegedly “throwing numerous rocks.”

The officer observed damage to the man’s hood. Officers brought the motorist to where Holt was being held. Holt was arrested after the motorist positively identified him. Other officers said prior to detaining Holt, other drivers reported a man making gestures with his hands near his crotch toward them. Holts was also reportedly yelling obscenities while throwing rocks.

In another report, a caller said a Budget rental vehicle hit by a rock. The second caller also identified Holt, police said. Holt was charged with criminal damage to property. He is due in court Aug. 3 in Bridgeview.
