Eisenhower High School celebrated the most successful athletic era in its history with a girls track reunion on April 18.
The T-Girls, coached by Barb Bryk and Donna Schulenberg, returned to Eisenhower at the annual Terry Englund Relays.
“As a T-Girl for four years, it meant being part of a family, sisterhood and friendship. We worked hard,” said Lisa Green-Fuller. “We had our ups and downs as any other family, but we always managed to work through our differences with love and support from one another and our coaches. I am a T-girl forever.”

In the history of Eisenhower athletics, no program boasts a better era. In a little more than a decade, the girls track program won three sectional championships and placed among the top 12 teams in the state five different seasons.
Individually, the T-Girls boasted 10 state qualifiers, 53 All-State performances, two IHSA state champions, and five All-Americans.

“Being a T-Girl was an honor. Not everyone could handle the dedication it took to be a part of our team,” said Cheryl Evers. “We out-worked all of our competition and it showed.”
Evers recalled one season in which the team found itself reduced to 13 girls.
“Nine of us qualified for the state finals. We took fourth overall as a team that year. That takes great coaching, talent, athletes that want to be coached, sacrifice, and dedication. We had all of that,” she said.
