'Elton and Whitney ' Tribute Show Headlines Spartan Foundation Benefit
Oak Lawn Community High School will host a musical tribute Nov. 4 to Elton John and Whitney Houston benefitting the Spartan Foundation.

OAK LAWN, IL — If you grew up on the music of Elton John and Whitney Houston, Oak Lawn Community High School will present an exciting night of entertainment to raise money for the Spartan Educational Foundation.
“Elton and Whitney” will take place in the Performing Arts Center on the OLCHS campus at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4.
Portraying Sir Elton John is Even Stephen, an accomplished singer, pianist and songwriter in his own right. Stephen has toured the world portraying the Rocket Man-hitmaker with such companies as Disney, Dick Clark Productions, and with his alma mater Legends in Concert for 28 years. With Stephen’s personality, uncanny look and incredible mimicry, audiences boast that he is arguably the best Elton John tribute artist on the planet, producers say.

Many consider Trina Johnson Finn a “triple threat” with multiple talents and a dazzling personality to match. Trina is no stranger to the entertainment industry. She has appeared on such shows like The Grammy's, Oprah, MTV Music Video Awards, BET Awards, Billboard Awards and the American Music Awards to name a few. As a recording artist, Trina was featured on MC Hammer's "Please Hammer Don't Hurt'em" LP. Her “Remembering Whitney” tribute to the late, great Whitney Houston, Johnson Finn is considered to be one of the best tribute artists in the United States and around the globe.

The Spartan Educational Foundation was created in 2004 for the purpose of generating scholarship funding for graduating OLCHS students. The foundation also allocates funding to promote innovative teaching and learning practices via its staff mini-grant program. The SEF is governed by a Board of Directors, made up of 14 volunteer members. Since 2004, the SEF has awarded more than $190,000 in scholarships to support OLCHS students as they transition to college. Additionally, the SEF has awarded $68,000 in mini-grants that support OLCHS staff and students.
