The Oak Lawn Public Library, 5300 W. 95th St., will host a free movie screening of "Mother and Child" on Wednesday, Dec. 15, at both 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
This 2009 drama centers around three women and three stories of adoption: A 50-year-old woman, the daughter she gave up for adoption 35 years ago, and a woman looking to adopt a child of her own. Starring Annette Bening, Samuel L. Jackson, Naomi Watts, Kerry Washington and Jimmy Smits. Rated: R. Running time: 125 minutes.
