Facebook Pot Deal Ends in Arrest: Prosecutor

Woman arranged to sell 18 grams of cannabis to confidential police source, prosecutors said.

Chicago Ridge, June 20, 2016 -- A 20-year-old woman was arrested after she allegedly orchestrated a cannabis deal over Facebook with a confidential police source.
Ashley Parkinson, 19, of Bridgeview, was charged with unlawful delivery of cannabis and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
According to the charges, the source contacted Parkinson over Facebook. The source was given $300 in marked bills by the Chicago Ridge detectives to make the buy.
Around 9:15 p.m. June 15, Parkinson drove to the 10300 block of South Ridgeland Avenue, where she met up with the source, prosecutors said.
She allegedly entered the source’s vehicle, then went back to her own car where she retrieved a bag containing 18 grams of cannabis while under surveillance by Chicago Ridge police.
After Parkinson was arrested, police said they found two pills of suspected Adderall as well as the $100 in prerecorded funds.
Prosecutors said this was Parkinson’s first arrest.
Bail was set at $10,000. The judge also ordered random drug testing should Parkinson bond out.
Parkinson’s next court date is June 29 in Bridgeview.
