"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" Celebrations at the Oak Lawn Public Library

In anticipation of the theatrical release of “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” on Nov. 18, the Oak Lawn Public Library is hosting a series of events to celebrate the magic of Harry Potter.

Drop-In Quidditch (Ages 6 and up), Sunday, Oct. 16, from 2–4pm

• Harry Potter’s the “sport of wizards” comes to life right here in Village Green. Come prepared for fun sporting events and dress for movement. Brooms and robes optional!

Harry Potter Yule Ball (All ages), Saturday, Oct. 29, from 1-3pm

• Witches and wizards of all ages are invited to a masquerade Yuleball! Wear your finest robes and get sorted into a Hogwarts house where you will enjoy chocolate frogs, butterbeer, create a wand and answer Harry Potter trivia.

The Great Harry Potter re-Read (All ages), Thursday, Nov. 3, at 7pm

• Whether you stood in line for midnight book releases or just recently discovered the joy of Harry Potter, we invite you to an all-ages book discussion of “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” in the Teen Room.

Live! Harry Potter Clue (High school students), Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 5pm

• Was it Draco with the cursed necklace at the Whomping Willow? Enter the world of Harry Potter and solve the mystery in a life re-enactment of the classic board game, Clue.

Tri-Wizard Trivia Tournament (Ages 21 and over), Wednesday, Nov. 16, at 7pm

• Test your knowledge about the Harry Potter wizarding world during our Tri-Wizard Trivia Tournament. Bring your friends and your own beverages for a night of Harry Potter challenges.
