Fast and Furious Car Chase Ends In Crash Into Light Pole: Police
Man leads cops on a fast and furious car chase through Hometown, tried to grab his phone from evidence and hide it in underwear, cops say.

HOMETOWN, IL -- A Chicago man led police on a fast and furious car chase from Hometown to Auburn-Gresham to thwart a traffic stop, prosecutors said. Furious Riley, 20, appeared before Cook County Judge John Mahoney on a charge of aggravated fleeing and eluding. Riley is also charged with misdemeanor resisting arrest.
Hometown police tried to pull Riley over on Feb. 6 near 87th Street and Southwest Highway for an alleged traffic violation. Riley ignored the lights and sirens and took off, driving the wrong way down one-way streets and running stop signs, the prosecutor said. The chase continued to 87th Street and St. Louis Avenue when police said Riley ran into a light pole, causing $700 in damage. The prosecutor said he jumped out of the car and hopped a fence. Riley was arrested moments later in a backyard. Police recovered Riley’s cell phone near the scene.
At station, Riley allegedly grabbed his cell phone that was being held as evidence. Police said he concealed the the phone in his underwear under his scrotum. The phone was later recovered from Riley’s underwear.
