First-Graders And Seniors With Dementia Reminisce Over Easter Baskets

Southwest Christian School first-graders and seniors from Grace Point reminisce about past Easters while making baskets.

OAK LAWN, IL — About two dozen first-graders and seniors with dementia teamed up to create Easter baskets to thank the staff of a local memory care community. Grace Point Place, an Anthem Memory Care community in Oak Lawn, welcomed the students from Southwest Chicago Christian School to the community.

“This was a great opportunity for our seniors to reminisce about past Easter celebrations while showing their appreciation for the staff,” said Shannon Dahlman, community relations director for Grace Point Place. “It’s a wonderful way to share their creativity and at the same time form new friendships with the next generation.”
