Forest Preserve of Cook County Plans Career Info Session

Learn about current openings and more about the online application system Sept. 19 at the Forest Preserve of Cook County info session.

RIVER FOREST, IL -- The Forest Preserves of Cook County is hosting a career opportunity information session this Wednesday, Sept. 19 from 3 to 7 p.m. The job fair will be held at the Forest Preserves General Headquarters located at 536 N. Harlem Ave. in River Forest. Attendees can meet with human resource representatives to learn about about current and future career opportunities with the forest preserves.

During the information session individuals can meet with HR, resource management, and conservation and experiential programming departments to learn about potential careers and current job opportunities in the forest preserves. Attendees will also gain a better understanding of the forest preserves online application system, as well as sign up to receive future bulletins about job opportunities.

The forest preserves are currently has two full-time openings for directors at the Little Red Schoolhouse Nature Center in Willow Springs, and the Sand Ridge Shabbona Camp in the Calumet region. Other current openings include:

  • Director of Facilities and Fleet (full-time/appointed position)
  • Maintenance Equipment Operator (full-time)
  • Naturalist Aide (part-time)
