Former Guest Burglarizes Home, Taunts Police: Prosecutor
Man accused of stealing hydrocodone pills and $600 from Hometown residence.

HOMETOWN, IL — A man was arrested after he kicked in an acquaintance’s back door and taunted Hometown police, prosecutors said. Jared Spano, 22, appeared before Cook County Judge John Mahoney on a felony charge of residential burglary. Spano is also charged with misdemeanor resisting police.
On Sept. 26, the prosecutor said Spano went to a home in the 8700 block of South Keeler Avenue in Hometown, where he kicked in the back door. Once inside, Spano allegedly stole 40 hydrocodone pills and $600. The homeowner came home later to find his back door and safe open, according to the charges.
The homeowner told police that Spano had been at his house before. Detectives called Spano on Oct. 20, who they said was “belligerent.” Spano is said to have called and taunted Hometown police several more times.
