Gun Discharged During Scuffle At Oak Lawn Condo Complex: Police

Police trying to determine if the gun went off accidentally or during a struggle during an apparent altercation between two women.

OAK LAWN, IL — A gun was fired during an altercation between two women Monday afternoon at a condominium complex in Oak Lawn, police said.

Just before 5 p.m., officers went to the Lawncastle condominiums at 104th Street and Menard Avenue for a reported shooting. Two women got into an altercation in front of the building, during which a gun was produced, Oak Lawn Div. Gerald Vetter told Patch.

One round was discharged, and police are trying to find out if the gun went off accidentally or during a struggle. No one was injured.

Police were seen talking to neighbors and putting numbered placards next to shell casings. Although one round was supposedly fired, there appeared to be two numbered placards next to where a shell casing or casings landed. The incident remains under investigation.
