Halloween 2023: Trick-Or-Treating Hours Set In Oak Lawn
For those who choose to participate in the holiday on Tuesday, Oct. 31, Oak Lawn is holding trick-or-treating hours from 3 to 8 p.m.

OAK LAWN, IL — Halloween is soon upon us. This year, Oct. 31, falls on a Tuesday, which means that Oak Lawn kids will be combing the streets for candy.
Despite a well-intentioned, but Draconian attempt to end trick-or-treating an hour earlier — not unlike the last well-intentioned Draconian attempt to shave off an hour in 2011 — Oak Lawn village trustees voted 5-1 at their last board meeting to keep the village’s trick-or-treating hours set from 3 t0 8 p.m.
Officials are asking residents to turn on exterior lights to show they are welcoming trick-or-treaters during that time.
