Harlem Avenue Closed In Bridgeview Due To Bakery Fire

BRIDGEVIEW, IL -- Fire crews are battling a major fire at Dunajec Bakery & Deli located at 8339 S. Harlem Avenue, in Bridgeview. The Bridgeview Police Department has ordered Harlem Avenue closed in both directions around 84th Street, in effect as of 5 p.m. Tuesday. Police officials are urging motorists not to approach the Harlem Avenue and 84th Street intersection. Motorists are advised to detour along 79th Street on the north and 87th Street on the south. Official hope to have Harlem Avenue reopened around 6:30 p.m. unless that fire takes longer.

According to a reader who is traveling through the area:

"Going Southbound is closed at 79th Street Unfortunately they are not rerouting the traffic so before 79th Street you either need to get off Harlem. Officers are not directing traffic."
