Helen Keller 5K Walk/Run on April 26th
To register on line, go to the District 1-A Lions website at www.lions1a-us.org and choose "5K Walk/Run."

A day of fun, fellowship and great exercise is in store for participants in the Fifth Annual District 1-A Lions Helen Keller 5 K Run/Walk on Sunday, April 26th.
Best of all, all proceeds will benefit programs assisting people who are blind or hearing/visually impaired.
This very special event takes place at Richards High School, 10601 S. Central Avenue in Oak Lawn. Race day registration begins at 7:30 am with runners and walkers starting promptly at 9:30 am.

Among highlights will be free hearing screenings and wellness checks for attendees.
The Run will be timed and feature awards for men and women who place first, second and third. All 5K runners will receive a T-shirt and all 5K walkers with $50 or more in donations will also receive a T-shirt.

To register on line, go to the District 1-A Lions website at www.lions1a-us.org and choose “5K Walk/Run.” Registration fees for the 5K Run are $30.00 and $20.00 for the 5K Walk. If walk participants raise $50.00 or more in donations, then registration is free.
All proceeds of the Run/Walk go towards funding of the District Lions Clubs Open Area’s account, serving people where there is not a local Lions Club; The Chicago Lighthouse for People Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired, one of the nation’s most comprehensive social service organizations; and the Lions of Illinois Foundation which operates 14 programs serving the visually and hearing impaired.
