Heroin Raid at D-Lux Budget Motel Leads to Arrests

Two men had divided 25 grams of heroin into 64 bags, prosecutors said.

Alsip police surprised a pair of alleged heroin pushers during an early morning raid at an Alsip motel.

Officers executed a search warrant at the D-Lux Budget Motel, 12340 S. Cicero Ave., around 7:39 a.m. March 13.

Prosecutors said Joseph Caputo and Christopher Deross were both inside the room, where they were with 25 grams of heroin, along with $608 cash that included a five dollar bill from a controlled buy.

According to police, the two had divided the heroin into 64 baggies.

Caputo, of Hickory Hills, is a graduate of an alternative high school in Burbank. Deross, 29, is a 2005 graduate of Evergreen Park High School.

Prosecutors said that Caputo completed a session of the Cook County Sheriff’s boot camp in 2007. Deross has three prior misdemeanors, including a 2012 possession of drug paraphernalia charge, where he spend seven days in Cook County Jail.

Caputo and Deross were both charge with manufacture with intent to deliver.

Bail for both men was set at $20,000. Caputo and Deross are due back in court April 11 in Bridgeview.
