Hometown Days Offers Two Days of Music, Mirth and Merriment
Hometown kicks off community fest featuring family activities, food, crafts, vendors, music and bike parade July 17-18.

Hometown kicks off its party in a parking lot this weekend offering music, food, beer tent, a kids’ bike parade and a visit from Batgirl, Batman and Spiderman.
Hometown Days launches at 5 p.m. continuing until midnight Friday, July 17, with an evening of live music at the Hometown Shopping Plaza, 87th Street and Southwest Highway.

Featured bands are the McCartens playing 1950s and 1960s hits from 5 to 6:30 p.m., followed by Kaze Call featuring Marty Trlak from 7 to 8:30 p.m., with Left Hang In featuring Scott Rowe finishing out the night from 9 p.m. to midnight.
On Saturday, the kids start lining up on their bikes (no motor bikes) at Hometown Elementary School, 8870 S. Duffy, at 8:45 a.m. The parade kicks off at 9 a.m. with bikes proceeding down Duffy to 87th Place to the Hometown Shopping Plaza.

Hometown Days runs 10 a.m. to midnight, Saturday, July 18, and features a jam packed day and night, including a craft and vendor fair, reptile show and more.
Saturday’s entertainment lineup includes acoustic music from 3 to 5 p.m.; St. Stephen’s Green, 5 to 6:30 p.m.; Small Town Trap from 7 to 9 p.m.; and the Tynan Band playing out night from 9:30 p.m. to midnight.
