Hometown Days Offers Two Days Of Fun and Frivolity
Hometown's party in parking lot gets underway July 19-20, featuring kids' activities, food, beverages and live music.

HOMETOWN, IL—Hometown’s party in a parking lot gets underway this weekend at offering live music, a beer tent, traveling reptile show, and a visit from Toy Story characters and Baby Shark at the Hometown Plaza, 87th Street and Southwest Highway. Hometown Days runs from 6 p.m. to midnight Friday, July 19, and 11 a.m. to midnight Saturday, July 20.
Friday, July 19
The party kicks off with an evening of music and dancing. Rev. T and the Soul Shakers take the stage playing Motown hits from 6:30 to 9 p.m., followed by the Chicago Music Machine from 9:30 p.m. to midnight. Don’t worry about the music being too loud because Hometown Mayor Kevin O’Casey will be there.
Saturday, July 20
Saturday is jam packed with activities for the kiddos, starting at noon. Ride the Mind Winder Swing, train, Euro bungee and chair swing from noon to 4 p.m.

Baby Shark and Toy Story characters will be dropping by for a visit with the young set from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
Then hang around for the Traveling World of Reptiles Show at 1 p.m., followed by a magic show at 2 p.m.

Rolling video games come out from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., featuring six different systems that can accommodate 24 players at one time.
There is also the prerequisite face painting, bouncy houses, balloon art, cornhole for kids and a slip 'n slide.
More live music and dancing are on tap, starting with Barefoot Jokesters featuring Becky Christakos from 4 to 6 p.m.
Hometown Days would not be complete without an appearance by Kennedy Compound from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Brock Abrams featuring Tommy Scheckel closes out the party from 10 p.m. to midnight.
