Hometown Mayor Dies Unexpectedly, City Stunned
Hometown Mayor Kevin Casey dies unexpectedly Friday at age 68. Funeral arrangements are pending.

HOMETOWN, IL — Hometown Mayor Kevin Casey suffered a medical episode Friday. He died at Advocate Aurora Christ Medical Center after life-saving measures were unsuccessful, city officials said in a statement.
Word of Casey’s passing spread quickly Friday evening. The family wanted to wait to make an announcement until after a planned Santa event Saturday, so as not to disappoint the children.
The 68-year-old mayor was born and raised in Hometown. He married fellow Hometown Cathy Casey, his wife of 47 years. The couple raised four children and had 11 grandchildren.
