"I trust you will make good decisions"

On Tuesday, Richards High School hosted its prom assembly for students who will attend the dance tomorrow.  

Principal John Hallberg spoke passionately about the choices and risks that students face that night.  He confessed a well-reasoned dislike for proms because, despite all precautions, sometimes tragedies happen.

He outlined the protocols in place to make the Richards prom as safe as possible.  Of course, once students leave the dance they're beyond the reach of any safety measures.  They’re on their own.

Richards has had five straight years without an incident at prom. Let's make it six.
