What can you say about people who would deliberately hurt a child; children young enough to use the type of equipment in our parks. My father, Lew Ahner, Jr. as superintendent of parks and a teacher back in the day worked hard to give children a safe and fun place to go. I think the person or persons responsible are not adults in this incident. Razor blades in candy, screws in slides, shootings over nothing at all. How were these people raised? My father would be so hurt by dangerous parks he worked so hard to build, and without the recognition he has not been awarded. So here's were we stand, raise you kids with love and discipline, teach the Golden Rule and perhaps something of the Bible, and let's give some park credit to Lewis R. Ahner, Jr. who helped to make it all possible. P.S. he is the one that got the trailers after the '67 tornado, not who is claimed was in the book of Oak Lawn.
