OAK LAWN, IL — Richards High School welcomed a new principal when students returned last week for the start of the 2024-2025 school year. A veteran CHSD 218 educator, MaLinda Majoch succeeds Mike Jacobson, who has accepted the position of executive director of Student, Family and Community Engagement for District 218.

A former associate principal at Eisenhower High School, Majoch returns to Richards where she started her career with CHSD 218 as a social worker at Richards in 2003. To Majoch, ascending to the position of principal of D218 high school is her “dream job.”

"It is a privilege to be able to return to Richards after ten years and serve as the principal,” said Majoch, who resides in Evergreen Park. “It is a fantastic school and my intention is to provide an optimal learning experience for the students and a supporting environment for staff. It’s an exciting opportunity to build upon the strong foundation and history that makes Richards special.”
