OAK LAWN, IL — During the final stretch of the regular season for the Oak Lawn Community High School girls basketball team, the young team knew it would need a big month of January from its leaders. Junior Kate Dillon stepped up and filled that role in a special way to earn the Spartan Athlete Spotlight for the week.

She was a model of consistency in the seven games during January, as she scored in double figures in each of the games. In fact, in three of the games, she scored 24 points or more.

“Kate has been an integral part of the team and is one of the reasons it is in position to win back-to-back South Suburban Conference Red championships,” head coach Mark Sevedge said. “She has been incredible for the girls basketball team during this great run the team has been on as of late.”
