Kitties For Keeps Offers Friends For Keeps At Cat Adoption Event Saturday At OL Petco

Foster-based rescue Kitties for Keeps will host a cat adoption event and donation drive Saturday, April 11 at the Oak Lawn Petco.

OAK LAWN, IL—Oreo, Nana, Tootsie, Gracie, Cat Sajak, Mr. Meowgi, Foley and Lizzie are ready to meet you this Saturday, April 11, at the Kitties for Keeps Rescue pet adoption event and donation drive. The event goes from 1 to 4 p.m. at Petco, 6220 W. 95th St., Oak Lawn.

Kitten season, that notorious time of year when outdoor and abandoned cats start having babies by the dozen, is in full swing, and shelters are already crammed with kittens. Kitties for Keeps is a non-profit, no-kill, volunteer, foster-based cat rescue. The Chicago Ridge rescue group is dedicated to rescuing friendly, adoptable cats (old or young) that are left homeless, in danger of euthanasia, or victims of abuse or neglect.

The aforementioned cats are all about a year old from last year’s crop of rescued feral kittens, and foster homes need to make room for the kittens being born now. Kitties for Keeps turns rescues into loving and adoptable pets. Cats in their care are spayed/neutered, receive appropriate vet care and treatment, and are shown love in their foster homes. After a strict adoption process, they are adopted into well-chosen forever homes.

Adoption fees are $150 for kittens and $120 for adults. Discounts are offered for adopting two together. All have had their first distemper booster, Strongid dewormer, FELV/FIV testing, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, and microchip.
