Ready to add a small, furry friend to your family? Critter Corral Guinea Pig Rescue is holding an adoption event at from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday (May 5). Oodles of loveable guinea pigs looking for their forever home will be at the store available for adoption. Come on out and add that new best friend to your family. Questions? Palos Area Chamber Health Expo and Fair
at Moraine Valley Church at 6300 W. 127th St. in Palos Heights from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday (May 5). Drop off old prescription drugs and used eyeglasses with the Lions Club. The event features health screenings, chiropractors, home health care and mental health care professionals. Free blood pressure screenings from Palos Community Hospital and activities for kids are also available. Meet some of the runners from Sunday’s Southwest Half Marathon, Michael is running to raise money and awareness for neurofibromatosis on behalf of NF Midwest. He’ll be raffling off several prizes including a 30-minute session with personal trainer Coach Kennihan (raffle tickets are $1). And, while you’re at the expo, stop by and say hi to Free admission.
Rotary Spring Planting FundraiserGet an early start on your Mother’s Day shopping by purchasing plants and flowers for mom at the Rotary Spring Planting Fundraiser at starting at 8 a.m. Saturday and Sunday (May 5-6). Gift cards are also available so Mom can get the flowers she likes for her garden just in time for spring. Purchases with this coupon from May 5-6 at ANY Clover’s Garden Center support the youth programs of the Moraine Valley Rotary. Donations made directly to the Rotary Club of Moraine Valley, 10296 South 78th Ave., Palos Hills, IL are also being accepted. Proceeds benefit the Moraine Valley Rotary New Generations youth programs, including Rotary International Youth Exchange, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Seminar scholarships, Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Seminar, and the Dictionary Project providing dictionaries to third-graders in Bridgeview, Chicago Ridge, Hickory Hills, Justice, Palos Hills, and Worth.

- at Doors open at 4 p.m.; game starts at 7 p.m. The evening also features raffles and pull tabs, food, friends and fun. Weekly cash prices total $1,875. Must be 18 to play. Play-books are $20.
