'Leap Day Baby' Surprises Oak Lawn Couple By Arriving A Month Early
The Oak Lawn couple wasn't expecting baby Malik until next month, and never considered having a leap day baby.

OAK LAWN, IL — Baby Malik was so eager to enter the world that he leaped into it a month early on Feb. 29, shocking his parents.
Mom, Akalya Pittard, and dad, Malik Jordan, of Oak Lawn, welcomed their little leapling at 6:55 a.m. at Advocate Christ Medical Center. Akalya wasn’t due until next month and never considered she might have a leap day baby. He joins big sister Amiri, 1.

Malik Jordan Jr. clocked in at 4 pounds, 12 ounces, and is 17 inches long. Baby Malik was the first of two leaplings born Thursday at Advocate Christ.
