Learn How to Protect Yourself from Identity Theft
Standard Bank and Trust is hosting a seminar, teaching residents how to protect themselves from identity theft and fraud schemes, then a community-wide paper shredding event.

With the several schemes out to prey on innocent residents, it is imperative to know what to do to safeguard yourself.
2400 W. 95th St. in Evergreen Park is stepping up to help residents protect themselves from these dangers by hosting an identity theft seminar on Tuesday, April 24, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
At the seminar, residents will learn how to identify identity theft, how to protect themselves from it and how to protect themselves from the various fraud schemes.

A large part of protecting yourself against identity theft is making sure you properly dispose of any sensitive documents. Standard Bank will have a neighborhood shred event, also at the bank, on Saturday, April 28 from 9 a.m. to noon. The bank limits you to four banker boxes of items to shred per household.
