Leo Club starts Respect and Kindness Week at Richards

On a day off, Bulldogs cook at Ronald McDonald House

Faculty sponsor Karen Lavin and Leo Club, the high school affiliate of the Lions Club of Oak Lawn, volunteered yesterday at Ronald McDonald House, which provides free housing and meals for families of pediatric patients at Hope Children's Hospital in Oak Lawn.

The event started Kindness and Respect Week at Richards High School.

"Leo Club kicked off HLR's Kindness and Respect week at Ronald McDonald House tonight. Students volunteered to cook for families staying at the house on their day off! We made chili, baked potatoes, cornbread, homemade chocolate chip cookies and brownies. The students prepared and served the food to approximately 20 families," she said.
