Lions Club Names Top Oak Lawn Cop and Firefighter of 2017

Oak Lawn's police officer and firefighter of the year will honored at the Lions Club's annual Law and Order Dinner, May 2.

OAK LAWN, IL -- OLPD Det. Sean Heilig and OLFD Michael Curran have been named the village top cop and firefighter of 2017. Both first responders will be honored at the Oak Lawn Lions Club’s 46th annual Law and Order Dinner at the Hilton Oak Lawn this Tuesday, May 2.

Heilig and Curran were nominated by their colleagues and chosen by an award recipient committee comprised of members from Oak Lawn's police and fire departments. The Lions have honored the Oak Lawn police officer and firefighter of the year since 1972.

The evening’s featured speaker will be private investigator Paul Ciolino, a homicide detective featured on 48 Hours and CBS News as an on-air personality. Ciolino grew up in Burbank and graduated from Reavis High School. He is the principal of Paul J. Ciolino and Associates International Forensics Consortium. Ciolino has also authored five books, the most recent Dead in Six Minutes, a biography of Dr. Stanley M. Zydio Jr. MD.

The Law and Order dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails, followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 2. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased at the door. The Hilton Oak Lawn is located at 9333 S Cicero Ave.
