Lipinski Applauds Announcement of Bipartisan Senate Agreement That Will Reduce ACA Premiums

"I will continue to work hard to make healthcare more affordable," said Lipinski.

“I’m happy to hear the announcement of a bipartisan Senate agreement that should lead to a 20% reduction in premiums for healthcare plans purchased through the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The Senate plan appears to build off of an agreement that I helped negotiate in July as part of the bipartisan House Problem Solvers Caucus. The agreement will guarantee cost-sharing reduction payments that President Trump announced on Friday that he would stop. According to the Congressional Budget Office, guaranteeing these payments will mean at least a 20% reduction in premiums and a savings of almost $200 billion of taxpayer money over 10 years. I look forward to seeing the details of the Senate plan to make sure that it is good for all Americans, especially those who rely on the ACA. I will continue to work hard to make healthcare more affordable, and I hope this will be the start of more bipartisan action to help the middle class.”
