Loaded Glock, Eluding Cops Lands Chicago Man In Jail: Police
"You can't be driving 80 miles per hour down Central Avenue with a loaded gun in your car. That's pretty dangerous conduct," judge said.

OAK LAWN, IL — A Chicago man is being held without bond after he eluded police in a high speed chase with a loaded Glock in his car, prosecutors said. David Smith, 34, appeared before Cook County Judge John Mahoney on felony charges of aggravated fleeing and eluding and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon.
Oak Lawn police tried to pull over a driver, later identified as Smith, on July 7 who was driving a vehicle without a front license plate, the prosecutor said. Smith allegedly accelerated to 80 mph down Central Avenue in an attempt to elude officers, ignoring traffic lights.
Police were eventually able to stop Smith. The prosecutor said that officers found a loaded Glock handgun with a live round in the chamber in a backpack in Smith's car. Smith has prior felony convictions for manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
