Local Business Guide: What’s Open or Closed in Oak Lawn
We asked local businesses to update their status and created a handy guide from their responses.

OAK LAWN, IL — The coronavirus is having a profound impact on the global economy, and has been particularly damaging to Oak Lawn businesses that depend on foot-traffic and in-person interactions with their customers. Even so, many businesses have found ways to stay open and to offer delivery, pick-up and safe-distance transactions to serve the community.
We put a call out to Oak Lawn businesses on Patch this week and asked them to update their status, give details on how you can continue to patronize them and to let the community know how they can best help during these challenging times. You can find the Oak Lawn business guide here.
If you own a local business and have not yet updated your status, you can find a simple submission form hereor simply scroll down to the bottom of this article.

Before the coronavirus shutdown, Yoga and Beyond owner Denise Cholewa was renting space for classes at First Unitied Methodist Church of Oak Lawn. Cholewa has had to put her plans for opening a yoga studio on hold. She’s using Zoom Video Conferencing to teach free classes, hoping to attract new students when everything reopens.
“We’re not holding classes at the church because of social distancing,” Cholewa said. “Yoga is so healthy. It helps with anxiety and stress. I’m not charging for the classes because we all need to help each other.”
