Local Writers Combine Voices in Literary Reading
Writers from Beverly's Longwood Writers Guild will read from their works along with the TallGrass Writers Guild Nov. 5 at BAPA.

CHICAGO, IL -- Members of the Longwood Writers Guild, based in Chicago’s Beverly neighborhood, and Chicago-based TallGrass Writers Guild, will present a “combined voices” reading of original works, including works published in the Outrider Press Black and White anthology series, Sat., Nov. 5, 2:30 p.m., Beverly Area Planning Association, 11109 S. Longwood Dr., Chicago.
Readers include Grazina Smith, a member of both writers groups whose work, “Executive Order 9066” won the Outrider Press grand prize in fiction. The story concerns the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II and a survivor of the internment who travels to pay her respects and memorialize the past.
Other readers include LD Barnes, Bill Grady, Grace Kuikman and Brenda Robinson of the Longwood Writers Guild, and Martin Altman and Joe Weintraub of the TallGrass Writers Guild.
Event admission is free and open to the public. Copies of the Black and White anthologies will be available for purchase and signing.
