Man Attempts Child Abduction Tuesday in Oak Lawn
The man is described as a Hispanic male, age 25 to 35, medium length hair, fit build, wearing a black T-shirt and jeans.

The driver of a black Mercedes Benz tried to get a 15-year-old girl to come toward his car around 4:55 p.m. Tuesday on the east side of the 10700 block of Central Avenue.
The girl was not injured, but police weren’t able to find the car or driver, according to Oak Lawn police.
The man is described as a Hispanic male, age 25 to 35, with medium length hair, a fit build and wearing a black T-shirt and jeans. His car was a newer-model black four-door Mercedes Benz with silver handles and a silver pinstripe.

The girl had been walking south on her way home from Richards High School when the car pulled up near her and stopped in traffic. The driver rolled down the the car window and tried to talk her into approaching the car, the girl reported to police. The man also opened the passenger side door, but the girl told him “no.”
The man drove northbound on Central Avenue. The girl went home and told her mother what happened.

There haven’t been any other reported incidents in the area, police said, and Oak Lawn schools have been notified about the incident.
