Man Preys On Child, Tells Her Dad To Give Him A Butt Whooping: Prosecutor

Justice man accused of sexually abusing girl begs father to give him a whooping and involve the police, prosecutor said.

JUSTICE, IL -- A man accused of sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl volunteered to let her stepfather give him an “ass whupping” instead of going to police, prosecutors said. Kavonte Boatner appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice on a felony charge of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Boatner is currently out on probation for burglary.

According to the charges, Boatner moved into an apartment building in Justice where the girl lived with her mother and stepfather. The family took pity on Boatner because he was homeless so they allowed him to sleep on an air mattress in the living room. On Feb 1, the mother drove her husband to work, while the girl and Boatner continued sleeping, the prosecutor said.

When Boatner got up to use the bathroom, he saw the girl asleep on her bed wearing sweatpants and a top. Boatner allegedly stood by the girl’s bed and touched her inappropriately over her clothes. The prosecutor said that when the girl stirred awake, Boatner fled her bedroom, banging his shoulder against the door frame

The girl peeked out of her bedroom. When she realized her mother wasn’t home and that she was alone in the apartment with Boatner, she locked her bedroom door,. When her mother returned home the girl told her mom she had something important to discuss with her. The girl told her mother what happened, including Boatner banging his shoulder against the door, she called her husband and police, the prosecutor said.

The stepfather confronted Boatner on the phone, the prosecutor. Throughout the day, Boatner texted the girl's stepfather, begging him to get police involved in exchange for an “ass whupping.” Boatner allegedly fled to Wisconsin. He was arrested in the area on Oct. 3. The prosecutor told the judge that Justice police got involved immediately after the incident. A warrant was already out for Boatner’s arrest for violating probation.

Boatner was ordered to contact with the child or her family while the case is pending. He also has to surrender any firearms in his possession, and is to have no contact with anyone under age 18, including the Internet.

“The public would find fault with me if I released a child predator back on the streets,” Felice said, setting bail at $200,000.

Boatner’s next court appearance is Oct. 30 in Bridgeview.
