Man Shot in the Head After Throwing Can at Car Near 59th and Pulaski

The 21-year-old victim is still in critical condition. A 28-year-old is in police custody in connection with the shooting early Tuesday.

A 21-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot in the head early Tuesday morning near 59th Street and Pulaski Road, according to a Chicago Tribune report.

Police have apprehended a 28-year-old man in connection with the shooting, but no charges have been filed as of Tuesday morning, the report stated.

The victim was on a street corner in the 5800 block of South Pulaski Road at about 12:50 a.m., shouting gang slogans and then tossing a can at the vehicle driven by the 28-year-old man, the report stated. That’s when the driver shot the other man and drove away, the report added.

The driver was picked up by police in the 6300 block of South Whipple Street, the report stated.

The victim is being treated at Advocate Christ Medical Center, the report stated.
