Mother's Day Brunch Spots in the Southland

Mother’s Day falls on May 14 this year. Luckily there are a number of Southland-area restaurants open to give mom a day off from cooking. Below is a list of restaurants offering spectacular spreads. Fountain Hills Golf Club, 12601 S Kedzie Ave, Alsip

Fountain Hills’ Back Nine Restaurant is offering cooking up a Mother’s Day breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m., with brunch to follow from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Breakfast is $12.95 for adults and $8.95 for children 12 and under. Brunch is $19.95 for adults, $12.95 for children under 12. Children 4 and under eat free at both sittings. Reservations are required at 708-388-4653.

Chuck’s Southern Comforts Cafe, 6501 W. 79th St., Burbank

Chuck’s is rolling out an awesome Mother’s Day brunch buffet starting at 9 a.m., with the last seating at 5 p.m. The buffet includes breakfast items, soups, salads, three carving stations (ham, turkey,pork loin), main entrees, southern-style side dishes, and assorted desserts. $29.99 for adults; $15.99 for children; free for children under 3. Ken’s on Western, 10522 S Western Ave., Chicago

Ken’s is serving Mother’s Day brunch from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Breakfast items, a salad station, hot buffet, and glazed ham and prime rib beef carving stations, and desserts. Standout items on the buffet menu include frog legs beef burgundy with mushrooms, salmon piccata and much, much more. Adults $39.95, $15.95 children 6-12, free for children 5 and under. Jenny’s Steak House, 11041 Menard Ave, Chicago Ridge and 10160 191st St, Mokena

Jenny’s Steak House will be serving a special Mother’s Day brunch from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its Chicago Ridge and Mokena locations. The menu includes breakfast items, as well as fish, beef, chicken and Italian selections. Adults, $17.95 (9 a.m. to 10 a.m. only), $23.95 (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.); children 10 and under, $12.95. This South Side legacy venue is offering a Mother’s Day brunch with two seatings at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., featuring an omelette station, waffle station and other breakfast items, as well as lunch fare, including ham and turkey carving stations, tilapia, baked chicken and pasta, sides and assorted desserts. The Disney Princesses will be roaming the room for photo ops. Reservations guarantee a seat. Francesca’s restaurants around the Chicago area will be offering a special Mother’s Day brunch from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Francesca’s has four south suburban locations in Oak Lawn, Palos Palos Park, Bolingbrook and Frankfort, as well as many other locations around Chicago and its suburbs. Granite City is accepting reservations for Mother’s Day at all of its area locations in Orland Park, Naperville, Northbrook and Schaumburg.
