Movie Theaters Posting 'Incredibles 2' Seizure Warnings
Marcus Theatres and other movie theaters across the country are issuing seizure warnings regarding flashing lights in 'Incredibles 2.'

ORLAND PARK, IL -- If your stomach is still churning from the “Blair Witch Project,” cinemas nationwide are posting health-related warnings for anyone planning on seeing Disney's “Incredibles 2,” especially those with photosensitive epilepsy or other sensitivity to photos. According to Disney, the Pixar movie opened in the U.S. on Friday to the biggest box office opening for an animated movie ever. However, some audience members reported experiencing health issues during the movie.
Due to the strobe effects from a character's weapon, there were several reports on social media (see below) of audience members becoming nauseous and reports of some people experiencing seizure.
As issues were reported from moviegoers, The Epilepsy Foundation released a statement on Saturday, urging Disney to issue warnings about the lights featured in “Incredibles 2.” Disney ended up encouraging theaters to post alerts inside or at the box office.
Marcus Theatres, a company that has several locations across the Midwest including Orland Park, has posted warnings in their box offices. AMC Loews cinemas in Crestwood and Chicago Ridge are also showing the flick.

Patch reached out to the company regarding the issue, and Mari Randa, Director of Marketing and Communications for Marcus Theatres responded, saying out of an abundance of caution, signage has been posted at the box office area at Marcus Theatres (pictured above).
The Epilepsy Foundation defines seizure as a sudden surge of electrical activity in the brain which usually affects how a person appears or acts for a short time.

@DisneyPixar @Disney I am a HUGE fan of Disney & Pixar. Sunday I saw the Incredibles 2 and suffered a seizure right after. I spent 3 days in the hospital. Had a million tests done and my head is still currently pounding.

Incredibles 2 was good but the amount of scenes that almost made me sick really sucked. Cause I don't get seizures but there's long scenes of disgusting flashes. Thanks Pixar.

incredibles 2 was definitely worth it. although i would suggest they put a warning sign for epilepsy/seizure sensitive patients during certain scenes.
